Wildabout Orkney is committed to providing memorable island tours and holidays which have been designed to promote local culture, protect natural history and minimise the impact of tourism.  We are particularly dedicated to working with local businesses to benefit our community and to provide the best possible experience for our guests.

Tours…

• Travel with small group of up to 16 guests on our daily tours
•  Employ local guides
• Promote responsible behaviour by educating guests on how to minimize their impact
• Conserve fuel through careful route planning
• Perform regular maintenance on vehicles to ensure safety and efficiency
• Coordinate arrival times at monuments to minimize stress on sites
• Promote the best of Orkney, including aspects of history, archaeology, culture, wildlife, folklore and spirituality in tour programme
• Offer guests the opportunity to sample a Taste of Orkney for lunch

Holidays…

• Design holidays which offer guests a more comprehensive overview of the islands and to spread business across Orkney and Shetland, including the smaller isles 
• Book holiday supplies from locally-owned businesses, whenever possible
• Promote Taste of Orkney through our restaurant reservations service for guests
• Present opportunities for guests to meet locals by choosing smaller accommodations as preferred suppliers

Office…

• Reduce, Reuse and Recycle as much as possible
• Participate in printer cartridge recycling programme
• Print double-sided on 100% recycled paper
• Publish promotional materials printed on FSC certified paper using vegetable oil based inks
• Correspond by e-mail as much as possible
• Shut down computer and monitor when not in use
• Use energy efficient light bulbs
• Purchase Fair Trade coffee and boil water using Eco Kettle
• Compost food waste
• Recycle glass and paper
• Clean with ecological products and re-fill bottles when empty
• Choose local products and services, whenever possible
• Collect stamps for donation to R.S.P.B.
• Install Eco-Click tap and dual flush toilet in bathroom to conserve water 
• Purchase power from renewable energy provider
