The International Otter Survival Fund (IOSF)
IOSF is an international charitable fund for the conservation of otters worldwide, based on the Isle of Skye in Scotland.

IOSF was inspired by observing otters in their true natural habitat.  Because the otter lives on land and in the water and is at the peak of the food chain it is an ambassador species to a first class environment.  IOSF was set up to protect and help the 13 species of otter worldwide through a combination of compassion and science.  It supports projects to protect otters, which will also ensure that we have a healthy environment for all species, including our own.  (excerpt from www.otter.org)

Worldwide Otter Projects
IOSF is active in various conservation, education and research projects worldwide, including Scotland, Ireland, Uganda, Chile and Kenya.  To learn more about IOSF's worldwide otter projects, click here

Wildabout Otters
Almost 20 years ago, Wildabout Orkney adopted the otter for our company logo.  We are pleased to have recently adopted an actual Eurasian (Lutra lutra) otter named Catkin, through IOSF.

Catkin’s Story:
My name is Catkin and I am a female otter cub.  At about 3 months old I was found alone at Dyce near Aberdeen and was taken to a vet who then arranged for me to travel to IOSF on the Isle of Skye.  IOSF will now care for me until I am old enough to go back to the wild.

Wildabout Orkney is proud to be a Life Supporter of IOSF and to assist in the worldwide conservation of otters.

For further information or to adopt your own otter, please visit www.otter.org.
